This period was a bit of an extension of the previous time frame, but in a different part of the state. The relocation was more recreational than professional. I designed, lettered and illustrated much of what I printed while working at an old letterpress/offset print shop in Crescent City, CA for about 3 years. During that time I designed and printed posters for concerts that Don Hartley was producing and for shows at his bar, the Yankee Lady Saloon. When I left the printing company, I started freelancing again as a loosely run business called Marine Studios. I was laying out a monthly, local paper called the People’s Exchange in addition to doing most of the cover illustrations. I was allowed a free page each issue to advertise Marine Studios.
