Rick Griffin Poster

RICK GRIFFIN Tribute Screen Print Poster

Rick Griffin was a visionary American artist whose roots in the Southern California surf scene deeply shaped his creative legacy. Born in 1944 near Palos Verdes, he gained early recognition for his comic strip Murphy in Surfer magazine, capturing the spirit of 1960s beach culture. Griffin later became a pivotal figure in the psychedelic art movement, designing iconic posters and album covers for bands like the Grateful Dead. His work fused vibrant color, intricate lettering, and surreal imagery, reflecting both his countercultural ethos and spiritual explorations. Though he passed away in 1991, his influence endures in both surf art and underground comix.
